The Tumor

I realized recently that I hadn't told you about the results from the tumor. No news is good news I suppose and it did take them a few weeks to get back to me, however, everything came out normal---praise the Lord! A stitch in my incision got infected this week and I had to rip it out myself (yuck) and I kept thinking...stupid C-Section. Then I remembered the tumor. I keep telling myself, GOD IS SO GOOD, HE WORKS EVERYTHING FOR GOOD, HE LOVES US AND IS TAKING CARE OF US, REMEMBER THE TUMOR!!! Remember the tumor! The C-section was a blessing....I would have had to have surgery to get it out anyways, but this way it was taken out and I had a beautiful daughter to look forward to. GOD IS GOOD! On a side note, Andy was looking through his phone and found a picture of it! They wouldn't let him watch during the actual delivery but once Joni was out, he stood up and watched and snapped a few. This is the link if you want to see it! It is very bloody and gross so that's why I just didn't post it here. I'm not going to force you to look at it. The tumor is the big white thing next to the doctor's hand. Enjoy and praise the Lord!

Hadley and Joni

Just a few random pictures of Hadley and her little sister. They are both doing great. Nana and Papa have been spoiling them and I am already nervous about when they leave! Hadley has had so much fun with them and Joni never gets put down :) It has been so wonderful having Janet here for this month...I COULD NOT have done it without her!
Joni did have her one month appointment this week and she is 10 lbs exactly, 20 inches long exactly, and doing great! She eats like a champ, and sleeps great too (only one middle of the night feeding!) We have been so blessed by these 2 beautiful girls! I am continuing to heal too. I get sore if I sit too long but things are getting better! Love to you all!

The Beard

So due to the C-section, Andy had to leave Louisville a few days early and get to camp. We came a week later and I found him looking like this. He knows I hate icky facial hair and since he loves me so much, he shaves when I am around. Well since I wasn't around, he didn't shave.....GREAT! So here it is....in all its sick hairy glory.
His brother has one too, which is fine....I don't mind how they look, but I don't have to kiss his brother, or anyone else with a beard. They are scratchy and itchy and pokey and rough. Anyways, so Andy told me that if I posted about his beard, I had to write MANLY things.........
GUTS, BELCHING, GRUNTS, MUSCLES, FOOTBALL, SWEAT, DIRT
GUNS, BUGS, TAR BLACK COFFEE, HAIR, BIG FEET, B.O., and on and on
So then Janet wanted to take some very nice family pictures (blog post to come) and so he shaved it off (thank goodness for family pictures). He then proceeded to do so in stages....so now instead of a beard, I was left with an even sicker mustache. GREAT!....again.
Oh my husband, how I love thee. He did end up shaving that off too before the pictures and now he looks so smooth and lovely! He says he is going to grow it back and he hasn't shaved yet, but I'm hoping if I bat my eyes and beg, he'll stay smooth :)

Playing, campfire, and birthday

I have never seen Hadley have so much fun. She gets to be outside most of the day and she just loves it! My parents brought up her house from Cheyenne and she made Nana some "juice" last night. She has flowers in here hair too. She sure is enjoying the great outdoors.
She already has her first set of golf clubs! Her dad is loving that his daughter is going to be hitting the course with him someday.
Joni's hair after her bath stands straight up. It is really cute. We think all the hair she had when she was born is thinning out but she isn't bald yet!
We had a campfire the other night too. We roasted marshmallows, blew some bubbles for Hadley to catch, and got to hang out with the counselors a little bit. Even Joni enjoyed herself!
I CAN'T believe I'm almost 30!!! My birthday this year was wonderful. Andy let me sleep in and him and Janet made breakfast for the camp. He even took Joni so I got an extra uninterrupted couple of hours. When I went down to the lodge to eat, it was all decorated and awesome! I was so surprised and it looked great. Then Janet made the best pineapple upside down cake in all of history and I had to blow out 29 candles (Hadley helped)! I got wonderful presents and then Andy and I went to a movie that night (while Nana babysat)! It was a great day! It was the perfect last birthday to celebrate as I will not be celebrating anymore :)
We are leaving to go golfing if it doesn't start raining on us before we get there! Love to you all!

We love Wyoming

Well...we made it!!! After a REALLY long trip (2 FULL days of driving to WY) with two little ones we finally made it to Wyoming! It has been so good being here and seeing family. Hadley and Joni have been getting spoiled by their Grandmas, of course, and Andy and I have been enjoying 0% humidity and cool weather. We stayed in Cheyenne for a few days before heading up to Sheridan to the camp that Andy and I running this summer. My mom bought this house for Hadley at a garage sale and we brought it with us...she loves it.

Trying our best Anne Geddes (not spelled right I'm sure) shot. Hadley was a trooper when she wasn't trying to turn the water on.

In Story at last! Andy arrived a week early and already had so much done as far as cleaning and bug killing! My parents brought up their camper for us to stay in over the summer and we have been just enjoying the dry summer weather and the mountains. I thought I was never say this, but it was good to see FLAT Nebraska on our drive....wide open spaces are nothing to take for granted!
This is my Dolly Parton pose. Actually it is Joni wrapped up in a Moby (the fabric baby holder thing). She loves and I get to have my hands free. I am planning on using it a lot this summer!
Hadley is helping clean out a cabin. She has also helped rake and sweep and step on bugs....my kind of girl :)
Hadley and her Nana---Janet is staying with us for the month of June and we would be LOST without her. She has been amazing and we LOVE her. Hadley is going to have a rough time when she goes home!
Our family of 4 before church this past Sunday. Hadley got sick the day we arrived and as you can tell still wasn't feeling herself (she is getting better though---the clean mountain air does wonders)!
And our Joni-girl....hope I haven't posted this picture yet....apparently I do that! She is getting so big already. She was 3 weeks yesterday and I look her and look at Hadley and know time is going to fly by. Pretty soon they will be running around together getting in trouble and looking darn cute doing it!
Well to all our WY friends...COME SEE US....we have lots of cabins! To all our KY friends......WE MISS YOU! Hope you are all well and love to everyone!
