Our poor neglected blog! The last post was Easter! EASTER! Our summer is in full swing and if there were ever a summer of travel...this is it! Lots and lots of traveling. We had 6 major trips to take and we are done with the first 3. We know that lots of people don't get the opportunities to visit friends and family like we do, and we are appreciative (but also enjoy our weeks where we get to be home :)).
TRIP 1: Louisville Ky--adoption fundraiser
Our sweet dear amazing friends, the Speirs', adopted a sweet baby from foster care and in lieu of gifts, asked friends and family to give to OUR adoption! It was a blessing far beyond anything we could have asked or dreamed of. We are so very grateful for the love and support of our sweet church family at Baxter Avenue Church. And Hayley is so, so precious and the perfect addition to their family.
Down time at home: taking walks, building stuff at the Home Depot kids mornings, and selling burritos for our babies.
TRIP 2: Wibaux, MT and Sheridan, WY--seeing Granddad and loving my favorite niece and nephew.
Nothing quite compares to down time on the ranch. So very thankful my girls are making the same memories my sister and I made when we were their age.
We celebrated both Joni's and Hunter's birthdays while in Sheridan and had so much fun spending time with the Pushcars! More birthday fun to come in the next post.
To pass the time while Courtney was at school, we watched a movie every day and did a craft that went with it.....footprint minions for Despicable Me...
masks for the Incredibles...
melted Olaf snow globes for Frozen...
monster bubble art for Monsters Inc.....
pipe cleaner Pascals from Tangled....
marshmallow Baymax from Big Hero 6...
and candy cars for Wreck it Ralph.
The time we spent went by WAY too fast but I'm so thankful for visit.
Mickey Mouse pancakes for Hunter's birthday!
and on the way home we stopped at Wall Drug where I spent a whole summer in college working as a "soda jerk." It was fun showing the girls another of mom's old stomping grounds. :)
TRIP 3: Back to Montana for Grandma's Memorial service
Courtney and I couldn't remember the last time that our family (her, my parents, and I) were all in Montana together. It was a very short trip but so wonderful. We loved and miss Grandma!
And finally, this past Sunday, Andy was ordained. Pray for him as he follows the call to be a faithful man who serves the Lord with his life.
Love to you all!
